GENERAL SETTINGS - WINDOWS 2000
Configuring your modem to connect to Optraweb Internet Solutions

• To start the Wizard click Start > Programs > Accessories > Communications > Internet Connection Wizard.
• Choose the middle option "I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN)."
• Click the Next button.

• Choose the top option "I connect through a phone line and a modem".
• Click the Next button

• Type in 0198333457  with no spaces in "Telephone number".
• Untick "Use area code and dialing rules" box.
• Click "Next".

• At this stage you may be prompted to install a modem if you do not have a modem driver installed for Windows 2000.
• Click the OK button to start installing the required files.  You will be prompted to insert your Windows 2000 CD.

• Type the username and password Optraweb Internet Solutions have supplied you.
• Click the Next button

• Type in "Optraweb Internet Solutions" for the "Connection name" for your Optraweb Internet Solutions connection.
• Click the "Next" button.

• Select "Yes" for "Do you want to set up an Internet mail account now?"
• Click "Next".

• Select "Create a new Internet mail account".
• Click "Next"

• Type in your full name in "Display Name" and click "Next"

• Type in your email address and click "Next"

• After the words "My incoming mail server is a" select POP3 in a dropdown box.
• In the "Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:" type in mail.optraweb.net.au
• Type in mail.optraweb.net.au in the "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server"
• Click "Next".

• Type in your username and password given to you by Optraweb Internet Solutions.
• If tick the box "Remember password", the computer will not prompt you for your password when you want to check your email.
• Click "Next".

• If you don't want to connect to the internet right now, untick the box.
• Click "Finish.
